Message of Sympathy on Hurricane Katrina in USA

On September 1, 2005, H.E. Mr. Somsavat Lengsavad, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People's Democratic Republic sent message of sympathy to H.E. Dr. Condoleezza Rice, Secretary of State.

The message wrote:

 

Excellency,

        I have learned with concern about the natural disaster that struck the States of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama on August 29, 2005, which has caused the great loss of lives and properties.

        On behalf of the government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic and the Lao people, I would like to express my heartfelt sympathy to Your Excellency and through You to disaster's victims.
